High adventure opportunities – wilderness backpacking, rock climbing, snow camping, canoeing, and more – expand our Scouts’ ability to explore their world, and enhance their skills.
Our High Adventure takes on two primary facets:
TRAINING
In order to offer these programs, we need trained leaders – both adults and youth. While we rebuild our High Adventure Training (HAT) Team, we encourage our leaders to find training through some of our nearby councils:
- Western Los Angeles County Council (WLACC)
- Greater Los Angeles Area Council (GLAAC)
- Golden Gate Area Council (GGAC)

PROGRAMS AND AWARDS
The Los Padres Council offers a number of high adventure awards, for hiking specific trails or camping under certain weather conditions. Contact our High Adventure team through the council service centers for more information/
